Part 11 - Lost Your Axe?

Some rounds let you get your axe back if you lose it. Others are not so forgiving. Here's where you can expect to find axes in the game and, more importantly, where you can't afford to lose it. Axes are never found in spotted eggs.

Difficult to get past the spiders without one - the trick is to jump high over the low double spiders, but slightly overestimate their speed so you're jumping earlier but from the same distance as you normally would. At the descending spiders, run under all of them but jump the last two.

					No axe. Difficult to get past the frogs without one - the trick is to go under the first one, then go under the second jump of the last frog. This requires some fancy back-and-forth running.

					No axe. Difficult to get past the flaming skulls without one - the trick is to jump precicely between each one.
					No axe. Very difficult to get past the frogs and bats without one. At the first bats, stand on the right end of the second moving platform so only one bat gets released. You can then jump the two bats separately. At the still platform, stand at the far left and jump the wasps as they both come low (or you could run and jump them early). At the first frog, drop on to the very edge of the platform, then run back and forth so you get under its second jump. At the next jumping frog, jump the still frog early then run under the jumping one. At the second wave of bats, stay on the left of the first platform for a bit and jump the first bat. Then jump to the very left edge of the second moving platform. Both bats will be released but with a gap between them, jump into that gap and stand almost still on the platform as it carries you back. You'll have to tap forward slightly as you go since the platform moves faster than the bats. When the platform changes direction, jump the second bat then jump to the next platform. Keep to the left and you can jump the final bat while staying on the last platform.
					No axe. Difficult.
					No axe. Difficult.
					No axe. Very difficult. Run under all the initial spiders. The trick to getting past the fourth pair of spiders is doing a small jump over the lower spider. This means you need to come at it with momentum, but not be running when you perform the jump. Right before the moment you hit the jump button, release the axe button and right button completely. You must press them both again while in mid air to keep your momentum. It is also possible to get through with a big jump, as long as you hit the apex after passing between the spiders. At the next wave of spiders, make sure to trigger the sleeping spiders to wake up in sync with the moving spiders so you jump them together. At the descending spiders, run under all of them but jump the last to. Take it very slow after this, because you have a bear skin monster rushing from behind, and blue spinning creatures from the front, as well as rocks and fire on the ground.

					An axe is immediately available. There is probably an axe in the skateboard egg a little further on as well, but it's not possible to reach without picking up the first axe.

					No axe. Very difficult. Lots of octopus and swordfish. The swordfish are particularly difficuly. The trick is to stand on the very right of every upper cloud and trigger the swordfish to come on the screen, then jump over it. If there's an octopus and the edge of the cloud, jump it and stand on the left edge of the lower cloud and let the swordfish jump over you. Take your time but watch your vitality.
					No axe. Very difficult. More octopus and swordfish. Use the same tactic as in the previous part. Watch for the swordfish at the block of land - make sure you land on the very edge and then jump it.
					No axe. The egg always contains a fairy, use it to get through this part.
					No axe. Fairly easy considering the earlier part of this round, just keep moving and jumping those octopus.

					No axe. Very Difficult. Lots of spiders with rocks and frogs.
					No axe. Difficult, but not exceptionally so. If you can get this far it won't have been the worst you've seen.
					No axe. Extremely Difficult. Although this part is technically possible, I seriously doubt it's practically possible. I've been able to complete the individual sections with many attempts, but not the whole part without an axe. The first wave of spiders have to be dealt with in the same way as in 7-4-3, with a small jump between the last pair. Of course, you have the added complication of a spotted egg to deal with which cannot be avoided. The next wave of spiders are simple. After that is the descending spiders. The trick is to run under the first five then stop at the gap. You can't jump the next two because of the jumping frog, so you have to jump and land in between the two spiders to trigger the frog, jump back to the gap before the frog reaches you, then run back and forth quickly in the gap so the frog jumps over you. Very tricky. The next frog is relatively simple, but don't forget the flower on the ground!
					No axe. Not hard, just remember to run into the first fire to destroy it for the hidden doll bonus, then jump the next three fires.
