Part 6 - Fruit
Fruit makes up one of the main parts of the game - sustaining your vitality
and gaining points. Your vitality creeps down slowly during gameplay, and these
items increase it. Picking up a magic mushroom from inside an egg changes all
fruit to junk food, which is worth more points.

As you can see, once you have the Magic Mushroom it makes a huge difference to your score. Different items increase your vitality by different amounts, with the best ones adding several bars of vitality to your health.
The first five items - the apple, bananas, tomato, carror and melon - are all visible normally throughout the game. The Fries are hidden, you have to jump at the right point to make them appear. They appear more often later in the game, and you usually have to jump over a desirable object to make them appear. This secret placement makes them harder to find by the beginning player. If you move slowly, you can sometimes see the little bubble pop of a disappearing item when there was nothing there - that was a fries activation point.
I've never been able to figure out what the final object it. Is it a box? A tin of tuna? I've been calling it a tape all these years and it's stuck for me. The only way you can get this is by killing the monster clad in a bear skin that rushes you from behind, and your final shot must be fired towards the right. This is explained in more detail in part 8.
